Age, term and ordinary fees
When must a Kelowna dog be licensed?
RDCO requires dogs over three months old that have lived in the Central Okanagan for more than 30 days to be licensed and tagged. Licences run to December 31. The program covers Kelowna and specified other regional jurisdictions, not every First Nation licensing system.

What are the normal annual fees?
A spayed or neutered dog costs $40 with veterinary proof; an intact dog costs $80. Fees are non-refundable. Registration without required spay or neuter documents is rejected, so have the vet evidence ready before requesting that category.

When does the early discount apply?
RDCO gives a $20 discount on new registrations or renewals between December 16 and February 28. That makes the ordinary early fees $20 or $60. The discount period is not a promise that a late-year registration follows the same rule as a renewal.

Discounts, online payment and tags
What happens for a new dog licensed after September 30?
The current page says new-dog licences purchased after September 30 cover the rest of that year and the next calendar year. Confirm that the registration is a genuinely new dog case. This rule is distinct from annual renewal of an existing licence.

How do I register or renew online?
Sign into RDCO online services and choose Dog Licence. New registrations are paid one dog at a time, while renewals can use Renew All. Renewals need the account number and access code on the notice. Retain the transaction record after payment.

Is the licence valid while the new tag is in the mail?
Yes, once payment is processed. A new registration's tag is mailed; a renewal should keep wearing the current tag. The online account also offers a digital reward card for participating businesses, which is separate from the physical dog tag.
