When were 2026 Kelowna property taxes due?

What if the notice never arrived?

The payment page says eBilling notices should arrive by May 15 and mailed notices by June 1. Check junk mail and Property Account, then contact Revenue if missing. Every joint owner may receive a notice, but the property needs one payment, not one per owner.

How do I pay through a bank?

Select Kelowna property taxes as the payee and use the tax folio number without its decimal point, retaining all digits. Add leading zeros if the bank requires them. The City warns bank processing can take up to five business days.

Can I pay at City Hall or by credit card?

How do tax PAWS prepayments work?

Eligible accounts without arrears can enroll using the PAWS application, not Property Account. Withdrawals run on or after the tenth from July to May. The final June amount is not withdrawn automatically; owners must settle the balance and claim any grant on time.

Can I set up recurring bank prepayments instead?

Yes. Pay current amounts first, then arrange recurring payments with the bank. The City suggests estimating net taxes after an eligible grant and dividing by the months to the next July deadline. Review the actual notice later because estimated prepayments may leave a balance.

Grants, deferment and account corrections

Does the City apply the Home Owner Grant automatically?

No. Apply to the Province each year and check approval. The 2026 City page lists a $770 basic grant plus a possible $275 additional grant for eligible categories. Allow up to three business days for an approved grant to reach the tax account.

What happens if only the unclaimed grant amount remains unpaid?

Until the grant is approved and applied, that amount is an outstanding tax balance. If it remains unpaid after the deadline, the mandatory 10% penalty applies. Paying the rest of the bill does not itself claim or approve the grant.

Can provincial tax deferment cover old debts or utility charges?

The linked provincial program is for eligible current-year property taxes on a principal residence. It does not cover previous-year taxes, penalties or interest, or municipal utility charges. Confirm current provincial eligibility rather than treating it as an automatic City payment plan.

How do I change an address or question an assessment?
