Role and Facility Information

Family Physician Opportunity – Strathcona Medical Clinic, Kelowna

Strathcona Medical Clinic is welcoming dedicated family physicians to join our vibrant, physician led team in the heart of Kelowna. Our modern, well-established clinic prioritizes high-quality patient care and a sustainable work-life balance in a supportive, collaborative environment.

About Our Clinic

Conveniently located on Abbott Street - just steps from Kelowna General Hospital and across from the lakefront - Strathcona Medical Clinic is a full-service family and maternity practice. Our team of eight physicians provides comprehensive care, including prenatal and intrapartum services at KGH, with approximately 70 deliveries per month and a strong referral base.

We operate within a dyad model, ensuring every physician has a balanced and coordinated schedule with a consistent practice partner. Each physician works 0.5 FTE, including in-clinic and telehealth time (equivalent to four full-time positions overall). As part of clinic expansion, we are looking to grow from eight physicians to nine or ten.

Current Opportunities

We are currently recruiting two physicians at 0.5 FTE each, with the option for additional call or extra shifts for those who prefer a higher workload.

We also welcome locums - preferably long-term, though short-term arrangements are sometimes available.

What We Offer

✅ Flexible Scheduling

2 days of in-clinic care and 0.5 days of telehealth per week.

✅ Collaborative Coverage

Guaranteed coverage through our rotating locum system (one week approximately every 2.5 months).
Flexible schedule trades and access to additional community locum support.

✅ Call Structure

Typically 2–5 × 24hour call shifts per month (maternity/obstetrical).
Additional call available for those who want increased clinical workload or income.

✅ Competitive Remuneration

Variable depending on call volume and clinical commitments.
Expected annual income: $350,000–$450,000, with the potential to exceed $600,000 for those taking on more call.

✅ Advanced Clinic Setup

Modern exam rooms
Med Access EMR
Experienced clinical and administrative staff
Strong specialist and allied health referral relationships
